Summary: Sam wants Dean to work on his self-esteem issues. Dean is not pleased. Post AHBL2 Diary format, introspective. Not humor. Massive A/N and graphics behind cut.



A/N: Fair warning, this is not humor. It's kind of introspective and angsty, maybe. Dates are entirely arbitrary, based on Roadkill being in late February and subsequent events taking some time. I wrote this right after the finale, was going to post it, but then went "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if I did this as graphics?" and so that stalled me looking for a font that was close to Dean's handwriting as seen in Usual Suspects (font used is SF Grunge Sans SC Italic, available here for anyone interested), then getting side-tracked by other things... anyway, here it is. And this is all there is. There is a non-graphic version up at ff.net.

A/N2: Okay, so I printed the pages out, distressed a couple and scanned them all, but somewhere between the printer and the scanner, the black lines went kind of... rainbow-colored. Which makes this seem like Sam's bought Dean a cheapo little notebook from the Dollar Store with hearts and flowers and happy pandas saying "I'm the best me I can be!!" on the cover. Totally not my intent, since Sam wants Dean to take it seriously and this is supposed to be a relatively serious piece, but oh well. My scanner adds unintentional crack. Whee. *facepalm*

Oh, this is just great! It caught my eye because I do daily affirmations, too ... just not like this! ;-) I got a good laugh out of these - very clever. And yeah, I know they got a bit serious toward the end there, but that's okay ... that's what Supernatural is all about.

I really liked the way you did this! It was imaginative and I could totally "hear" Dean fussing and cussing, see Sam glaring at him for not wanting to write in the book. You captured the boys' voices perfectly.

Nicely done. I really like your Dean voice here, and Sam comes through well, too. I love how Sam keeps checking up on Dean to make sure Dean's still writing. And I also love the bit where Dean thinks about turning himself in to the FBI to get the FBI off Sam's back. I can definitely see him doing that.

I have no idea how the rainbow thing happened with the scanner, proabably something about diffraction. I kind of wish I'd known that was going to happen, I would have figured out a way to work it in. :-)
