Life: The VCR saga and another thing

I am Mac-frigging-Gyver.

I fixed the VCR! Well, it doesn't make banging noises anymore, and plays tapes and records tapes, not that I'm going to let it do any of those things unattended again, ever. There was a bit of tape stuck in underneath some roller-thing, and another whatsit that was partway out of a little socketty thing that I pushed back and I have no idea what I actually did or if I could ever repeat it, but the damn thing works for now so YAY! I even have a plan for reacquiring the lost episodes, so also yay!

Thank you to everyone for your empathy and support in my moment of VHS-related emo. *hugs you all*

On a(nother) personal note, at fanfiction.net, Laundry Day has hit 15000 total reads of all chapters combined and 1000 reads of the last chapter. I take the latter number as the number of people who actually read or re-read the whole thing.

This makes me happy, particularly because hot-posting that story drove me insane, and is the reason why I had at one point sworn (swore?) that I would never ever start a multi-chapter fic and hot-post chapters again. Until Quantum Rock. Which is, of course, driving me insane. Sigh.

Anyway, it doesn't matter to me how the numbers above compare to traffic on other stories, it just makes me happy that maybe 1000 people have my words in their brains and none of them have written me hate mail yet. So, again, yay! :-D

Hi, I'm just a random stranger who happened to stumble across your Laundry Day today. I loved it! It made me laugh so hard! And then I went and gave a blow by blow description of the story (complete with all the best lines) to my family too.
I seriously think this is better than the stuff that has been airing on SPN this season. You totally captured the way the guys speak and act!
I really enjoyed it and just wanted to let you know how great it was.

I just did a search for "Supernatural humor fanfic" and there you were! Also I am a HUGE fan of Plastic!Winchester Theater and probably would have stumbled across you by linking from there eventually. Thank goodness for LJ - it keeps me sane!

I love MacGyver! Well ... you know... not like THAT :p but the idea of what MacGyver does is so cool! Good for you, fixing your VCR!

Why yes, they are Jayne hats. I knitted them for friends (and myself). We wore them recently when we went to see Alan Tudyk speaking at a convention. Yes. We are sad geeks! :)

No we didn't get to talk to him. He gave an on-stage talk and answered questions and showed some really funny home videos that he and Nathan Fillion had filmed. He made us all promise not to film it with our cameras or release it on the net - he didin't have permission from the people in the home video to show it publicly HILARIOUS!
