And then I sez to the guy, I sez "But the monkey doesn't like Proust."

Random title is random.

Random mini-thoughts, some about 4.03, some general:

1) You know it's been a hard week when a trip to Walmart makes you giddy. I got headphones. They aren't the headphones I was looking for, but apparently no one that is less than a $20 road trip away even has a hope of carrying them and I was going insane without some kind of headphoneage. :-P The ones I got are passable, but they aren't the awesome Jensen ones, so the quest continues. At least I'm not going insane from lack of sound.

2) I'm wondering if Kripke named Mary's family Campbell as a shout-out to Joseph Campbell, whose work Kripke has made reference to before.

3) I need to make a Mary icon soon. How can 111 icon spaces NOT BE ENOUGH???

4) I've heard that Mary's mom in 4.03 was played by the same person as the mom from that ripoff of SPN other CW show that features a demon-hunting guy named Sam with some dubious things in his past, "Reaper"? Even thinking about a crossover incorporating and using that factoid makes my brain cringe from the mangled tangled plot and timelines. (and I'm joking about that ripoff comment except I'm not) ;-)

4A) Speaking of crossovers... I have the most bizarre urge to see (not write, because I know noting about 1/2 of the crossover) a fic about the SPN Campbell family hunting down something in Wisconsin that's haunting the Foreman family basement. Even though the timelines don't match up at all and I don't actually watch "That 70's Show". The crack potential could be vast.

5) I have discovered a new (to me) way to get people to stop tailgating. You know how when there's someone right behind you and you can see your own shadow on your sunshade from their headlights? Well, here's what I did:

-Find a song on the stereo. The weirder the better. I used "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" What? You have your driving playlist I have mine.

-Crank it.

-Commence rocking out. Head-bopping, shoulder-dancing, one hand waving in the air, big gestures the person behind you will see because you are lit up in their car's headlights. Pretend the headlights are a center stage spotlight and you are the most awesome performer in the known universe. Go nuts (but still, eyes on the road, watch for traffic, even speed, no swerving etc. Safety first.)

By the time the song was halfway done, the person behind me had backed off a full block. ;-)

Anyway, comments are caught up, still need to catch up on f-list, hope to do that tomorrow before Show.

Oh, and since it's past midnight in North America, it's now THUUUUUUURSDAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

On that note, I'm off to sleep.

THUUUUUUURSDAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

Rock on! *flaily dance*

#2 I think so too.

Will try #5. In the same vein, I found that telemarketers get very confused if you tell them "sorry, you've got the wrong number" and they usually hang up *evil grin*

I usually ask them if they've found Jesus and then proceed to try and convert them.

I'm pagan....

I hope so. ... The meta I'm writing kinda assumes it...

4) I've heard that Mary's mom in 4.03 was played by the same person as the mom from [snip] "Reaper"?
She was! She also digs up her should-be-dead-but-isn't husband in the finale there. Awesome.

4a) If you ever find it, we'll OD on crack together XD

5) re: Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? - Rockapella is so much love. There's a big goofy hole in my heart shaped like Scott, because I haven't been able to listen to them since Barry and Elliot left the group, squishy family oriented men that they are. (What? A friend of mine was really obsessed with them and it bled over into me :D)

OOOOH, I'm gonna try that one if they don't hang up immediately!!

Hee, you obviously know way more about them than I do.

Unfortunately yes. I know much more about them than I think I'll ever need to know about anybody, but it's really not my fault. But they were a bunch of really cool, sweet guys when you caught'm at a meet and greet, and god those voices.

The bass they used to have, Barry, when he'd sing Big Bad John you could feel it in your bones, but Zombie Jamboree was always one of my favorites to see live. They were so goofy and adorkable... Come to think of it the first RPS I ever wrote was for a friend's birthday about them. Lol...

Now I'm just babbling, though, so I shall wander off...
