Life: Snow report for the weather-obsessed
It's been snowing since midnight last night. Currently on the deck (which is a bit sheltered) 13 inches.
Here, have a picture.
Last I heard, it's supposed to slack off a little but keep snowing pretty much straight through New Years. Yay for balmy BC weather! ;-)
As for myself, I've improvised draft-stoppers, I have a pot of tea, and I'm going to go now and watch Terry Pratchett's "Hogfather" (Thank you! You know who you are!)

Snow was so rare around here when I was a kid, my folks would drive up a local mountain to get to actual snow. If we got anything lower down it was wet slop, and schools would close for four inches or more because the city works crews couldn't cope with clearing the streets.
Now it's a foot deep at sea level, dry, powdery, and has been snowing on and off for a week. It's extremely atypical, and causing serious transport problems.
It's also totally cool and I love it. ;-)

we're closer enough to the mountain that we seemed to get the -19 temperatures rather than masses of snow this time. I'm actually ok with that at this point because we still got ~4 inches on top of the 24 or so we already had....
