So, LJ lays off a bunch of people, aaaaaand LJ goes down for a while. Hmm.... Maybe someone unplugged the server on their way out? XD

Anyway, last night, like many, many other people, I made a bomb shelter backup journal over at insanejournal. It's very no frills. The icons, links, tags and graphics may all be screwed (since the links didn't localize and the graphics aren't uploaded over there yet), nothing with a poll attached would port over, and the frigging eye-bleedingly horrible ads are smacked all over the free accounts (I don't mind ads because, hey, free, but my god what hideous dancing baloney! :-P) but it's a backup *shrug*. Just in case.

The majority of my posts here are mirrored there now. I will try to keep it updated, and I may blather over there if LJ is unavailable. Otherwise, I'm staying here at LJ as long as it lasts.

In the meantime, work is hell, I am way behind on writing, the snow has disappeared and I'm crossing all my crossable appendages for the People's Choice Awards tonight! ;-)

I've been over at IJ since the last LJ spazz. I don't think this will come to ought, but it's good to be prepared. I don't want to lose all my mates!

I haven't been bothered to get keep my IJ up but I think I really ought to start. Nice to know you're there too. I'm in your camp though - staying as long as LJ stays interesting.

I too made an IJ but didn't port anything over. I just want to stay in contact with people I know here but yeah, I'll be here as long as it remains. :)

An actual website? Nope, just LJ, IJ and ff.net. Well, and the html coded files on my hard drive. If I ever decide to put one together, You can bet there will be an announcement, but knowing me... not for a very very long time. :-)

Better the devil you know, so to speak. LJ seems to have a broader population, and it's got that 'lived-in' feel.

I ported my stuff over because... well... online, my data is who I am. That and I really am an info pack-rat. :-)

And of course your data is important! You contribute to fandom with wonderful fic and awesome stories. I am a lurker/reader and anything in my journal is sort of, able to be lost without much heartache. :)

Well, I'd be heartbroken if it disappeared! There's all kinds of vitally important squee in there! AND vids (or handy links to them) AND Metallicar pondery stuff, AND the stuff you did mapping Bobby's place! And lots of other things!

I'm clinging to LJ until the bitter end... mostly because I'm a spazz and downloading and installing (gasp! the horrors!) the programs to copy everything to IJ is daunting to me. It is, though, a comfort to know that practically everyone is meeting in the same bunker if LJ goes poof.

Ps Get Adblock Plus for Firefox! Don't suffer annoying ads in vain!
