SPN Fanfic: Are You Smarter Than a Fourth Grader? (Drabble)
Quick Missing Scene Drabble for 3.08
GEN PG,
Are You Smarter Than a Fourth Grader? or Sammy Winchester Ain't Indiana Jones.
Timeline: 1991 - During flashback scenes in "A Very Supernatural Christmas"
John reached into his coat for the familiar comforting bulk of his journal and realized something was wrong. Horribly wrong. The cover didn't feel like leather, and the sides didn't flex in when he grabbed it. He pulled out what was where his journal should have been.
MathQuest 4?
John looked up at the demon-possessed man staring pissily at him from inside the restraining circle.
"Uh, looks like I'm fresh out of exorcisms." He held up the textbook and grinned gamely. "How's about some long division instead?"

Somehow though, I don't think John'd buy that after trying to exorcise a demon with a fourth grade math text.

(I tried to write a comment on your episode review, but LJ wouldn't let me last night and ate it three times. I can't remember what I was going to say now, but the first attempt was three paragraphs and very frustrating to lose. The comment system appears to be working now, so I'll go try again before I have to get to work :-P)

I can remember parts of it because of the little audio project I did way back last year sometime. "Ragna terre, cantatae deo, solite domino, prefertu super chelum chelae, av oriento *mumble something something* satanica protestas..." I remember the satanica protestas bit because I always translate it in my head into 'no matter how much Satan bitches about it.' :-D

Rat.
hehe... love the idea of John pulling out the math book. I just wonder what the fallout would be once he gets back to the kids.

I don't think I know how to do that either, so no worries. I'm surprised you found this one it's not really linked anywhere :-D

Epic, no doubt. :-)

And yes, I want to see the epic fallout from the text book swap.

Oh dear. Well, it'll have to fight its way through the large backlog of promised and owed fic and suchlike, but I'll add it to the plot bunny circus.
