Rewatching 4.18 for a few details for something and I'm suddenly really distracted at how pink the room is. The door is pink, the loopy wallpaper is pink, the lower non-loopy panel-looking part of the wall is pink, The wallpaper or paint on the other wall is a different shade of pink, (heh, three different kinds of pink wall coverings, that's extreme) the chairs are pink, there's pink flowers on the upholstered headboards, I think, that lamp is, um, kind of a deep fuschia pink, as is the carpet... Hell, the lights outside are pink...

If I was a more paranoid person, I'd wonder if the set-design people have read this fic I wrote. If there was a butterfly anywhere in there, I'd probably explode from sheer bogglement.



In other, less arrogant and slightly less ridiculous observations:

-Chuck might have the Harvelle's Roadhouse monkey at his place. I think it's behind Zachariah there in the end scene, wearing some kind of space armor.

-Interesting how Sam gets Chuck to come to him, but Dean goes to Chuck on his home turf... Hm.

-Chuck needs to recur. The more I watch this ep, the better I like him. Especially at the end, where he goes all angst-puppy. *nods*

-Oh and here, since I'm blithering about the episode anyway, have a random icon.

Pink? Huh I need to rewatch that. I think I assumed it was all red because it was so dark much of the time.

Chuck so needs to come back someday! Season 5, make it so! It's not fair to make us care for him so much then never have him back, right?

Pink!! It's everywhere! You know there have been studies done on the effect of decor on people in mental institutions and pink tends to increase psychopathic tendencies. Or so I've heard

Oh, it's pink. Even the pictures have pink in them I just now noticed. And the panels in the room screen with the bulls on it is kind of deep pink when the light shines through it. And I think the curtains might be deep pink too, it's just hard to tell.

And Chuck totally needs to come back. Hopefully not the same way Andy came back, because I kind of hope they hold off on murdering him messily for a while yet.

The pink -- I kinda noticed it, but what really stood out to me more was the Bullfighter theme of the room. And then I started thinking about who was who, is Sam the bull futilely charging after that evil Torador!Lilith, thinking that he's big and strong and gonna stomp that bitch into a puddle? Or is Dean the bull, thinking he can change what happens when WE all know how the bullfight's gonna end? Except sometimes the bull gets lucky and can score a hit anyway?

Or are the Angels the Toradors, acting at agents of Fate, bound to the rules of the ring but maybe there's some flexibility in HOW they handle the fight and the Bull is every stubborn Dean, Sam and Chuck who has to be handled/manipulated a certain way to get the desired results and put on a proper show for the crowd?

Or is Lilith the bull, but thinking she's the Torador?

Or something else entirely? Okay, now my head hurts. Lol.

There was a monkey statue somewhere on the bar, usually or somewhere in shot whenever they filmed a scene at the Roadhouse. It was kind of a 'thing' for the directors to try and get it in shot.
