Meme: Random Questions

So [livejournal.com profile] pen37 tagged me with this meme and blew my mind for the day...

"Rules" (They're more like guidelines...)

Here's the deal: People who have been tagged post their answers and replace any question they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves. Tag 8 people. Those who are tagged cannot refuse (Yeah, right. Refuse away, gang). These 8 people must state who they were tagged by. You cannot tag the person who tagged you.

Tagging:

[livejournal.com profile] girlfan1979, [livejournal.com profile] longhairedlady, [livejournal.com profile] malevolent73, [livejournal.com profile] spndpfrdcrck, [livejournal.com profile] weesta, and you lurking people, A, S, (and possibly R, J, and T?) who are quite welcome to take this to e-mail ;-)

(normally I'd post something like this friends-locked, but I can't or the lurkers won't see it *pokes lurkers*)

1. You have 50 dollars in your pocket what do you do with it?

Put it in the gas tank. Or get an oil change. Or both, and then try to bludgeon a corner of time out of my crazy, crazy schedule to blitz out of town for a day (you lurkers know where I'd be going).

Or maybe buy a 150-watt three way light bulb, or one of the many other little practical boring things I'm putting off buying in favour of paying the bills. Things like clothes. ;-P

2. What is your most guilty pleasure?

Wandering around in Dollar Stores finding really cool random stuff? Dunno.

3. Have you ever seen someone die?

Yes.

4. Are you confused as to what lies ahead of you?

Not really. Daunted by the endless drudgery, maybe? :-P

5. What was the last movie you saw, for pleasure, and would you recommend it?

On DVD... Hot Fuzz I think? And yus indeedy.
In theatre... heh. Ten Inch Hero. And that would be a big 'Hell yeah!'

6. Superman or Batman?

Of those two, Batman. I like intelligent, self-made heroes that can bleed, and hurt, and might get killed doing what they do but do it anyway, just because it needs doing. (Why, hello there Winchesters! Where did you come from? ;-D )

7. If the person you like does not accept you, would you continue to wait for them to change their feelings?

Well, I don't tend to like people who overtly don't like me... But if by 'like' it means 'have some form of romantic feelings for', I tell myself I'm being an idiot, and stomp the hell out of those feelings until the feelings go away. And if the feelings don't go away, I withdraw from the person.

8. If the person you secretly like is already attached, what would you do?

Just be friends, and kill the stupid part of my brain that thinks there was ever any chance. And withdraw from the person if it won't die.

9. Is there anything that has made you unhappy recently?

Hm. Work stress and frustration with people, generally.

10. If you could have chosen at birth whether to be a boy or a girl, which would you be?

Girl. If I was a boy, the name my parents would have given me would have... well, would have wound up netting me daily beatings at school at the very least. And I was born in a fun era and region to be a girl in, so that worked out okay. Though if I could opt out of the whole hormonal insanity thing, my life would be a lot smoother. :-P

11. What do you consider your greatest accomplishment?

...I don't know. I'm still really tickled about stuff I wrote being translated into Russian, but that's just something I find nifty, not something I've accomplished. Probably getting my Bachelor's degree and being in a position so completely opposite of where I was not too many years ago, it sometimes makes my head swim.

12. What's your greatest frustration?

Not having the time to do the stuff I've promised or implied that I'll do, and on those rare occasions when I do have time to do some of it, having fifty other urgent things jump the queue on me. :-P I have the most incredible crushing guilt over these things and hate hate hate disappointing people. :-(

(...and yes, I'm still working on all of it...)

13. Who is currently the most important person/people to you?

My friends... and even though they drive me insane most of the time, my family.

14. Would you rather be a really good person or a really interesting person?

Heh. I'm amused by the assumption there that the two positions are mutually exclusive. :-)

I'll take interesting.

15. Do you believe in some form of life after death?

Yes. And I think absolutely everyone in the entire world is right in whatever they believe what happens after a person dies, even though many of those beliefs often contradict each other. Everybody's still right. *nods*

16. Which fictional character could you most see yourself marrying?

Heh. I'm not the marrying kind. If I were the marrying kind... Hm. Dunno. None of the characters I can think of are the marrying kind either. ;-D

There's a whole bunch I'd be thrilled to be in a 'Mutual Badass Support Society' with, though. Not that I'm a badass. Like, at all.

17. Would you give your all in a relationship?

I did once. And then I took it back.

18. Do you have a motto? If yes which one?

Not really. But pick something random out of the Evil Overlord's handbook and it probably applies. ;-)

19. What type of friends do you have?

Awesome ones, of course! ;-D Usually a little weird and whacky, with odd senses of humour, and an appreciation of the absurd. Also mostly sci-fi/fantasy fans, avid readers, and/or gamers.

20. What place most speaks to you?

Woods and forests. Twisty paths through undergrowth, tall evergreens filtering the sun, threaded through by creeks that fall rippling down into deep green pools worn into the stone.
