Sherlock Recs
GEN FIC
Meeting of the Minds by
CROSSOVER - Sherlock/Sarah Jane Adventures
Summary: Sherlock isn’t the only freakish genius in the world. He isn’t even the only one in southern England.
(6k words. Sherlock meets Luke Smith. I repeat. Sherlock meets Luke Smith. That is all, and it is awesome.)
Varnished Silver by
Summary: "Warped mirrors are fascinating"
(An interesting study of Sherlock and the nature and effects of damaged mirrors. If you read this with the right perspective, the meta will jump out and steal your breath away. Short and shiversome.)
PRE-SLASH FIC
Improbable Reality by
Summary: Moriarty recaptures John and leaves him trapped in a world of hallucinations.
(PG - Could be read as entirely Gen/Squint except the last few paragraphs, where there is kissing. A very creative take on hurt/comfort, and the detail of the hallucinations is wonderful. The combination of humour and angst in this blends into something almost wistful.)
PRE-HET FIC
Say My Name by
Summary: After the Pool Incident, as she's been mentally calling it in her head, Mycroft assigns her to monitoring his brother's website, which is how she finds herself reading through his boyfriend's blog.
(PG-13 - Anthea/John. Sweet flirting. Slow, romantic and adorable, and a fascinatingly possible take on the character of Anthea having a condition called prosopagnosia, or face-blindness.)
SLASH FIC
Planet Sherlock by
Summary: John and Sherlock devise a rating system for their sexual encounters.
(NC-17 - Sherlock/John. First-time (second-time, third-time...) fic. SEX. All over the place. 6k long. This has a sense of geeky playfulness through it that's quite engaging and funny.)
If you've seen something amazing that you think more people in the Sherlock fandom should have the chance to enjoy, please rec it at the main Sunday Recday post at

There's also another fic out there called "Anthea and the Faceless World".
http://community.livejournal.com/sherlockbbc/1309445.html
and you know Anthea can't be a flake and work for Mycroft. She has to have some smarts somewhere, and having trouble recognizing faces would make a good explanation as to why she didn't recognize John.
My dad has very mild prosopagnosia, and he'll recognize co-worker and folks he's known for years, but with movie stars he has a lot of trouble recognizing from one show to another. (It's all the make up and hair changes.)
He'll finally get the association once I mention what else the actor has been in. Then he'll stare at the actor for about 15 minutes and go "OH! Oh, yeah."
