Supernatural 9.03 - "I'm No Angel"
-I'm not skipping the Then's since I actually need the catchup, which is sad.
-Aw, Castiel's using Clarence as his name now. Aw.
-I cannot adequately explain, nor would I even try to explain the profound depths of complex joy I have for the mid-stream swaps going on between Sam and
-"What makes you think the angels are organizing?"/"...It makes sense." And this is Dean's 'I am totally full of shit but I mean well' face.

-Televangelists as a tool for softening people's resistance towards becoming vessels is tactically smart. Trying on anyone who offers themselves up as a vessel without checking if they won't explode first, not so much. I mean, even if the angels don't give a crap about the humans they're killing, which evidently they don't, they're leaving a trail of exploded bodies behind. If they do a quick check first, then if the person isn't angel-compatible make some handwavey spiritualistic excuse for not possessing them, or do a metaphorical sort of 'possession' so the person is still spreading the 'let in the angels in' message without being dead or feeling rejected, that's a lot less noticeable. As to how to do the checks if they can't due to being cut off from Heaven (did the cupids fall too?) and they can't sense it (though really, Bartholomew seemed to know what was going to happen before it did, so they probably can) they could look up vessel bloodlines on ancestry.com or something while the person spends a day being hand-wavily 'ritually purified' by spending a day sitting in a hot tub eating grapes or whatever. It's a heck of a compromise between speed and stealth, considering they are concerned with being secret from the average human or they'd just be out rampaging openly. Still, not tactically sound.
-The televangelist handwaving the messy explodey death in front of him. I know people exactly like that.
-I cannot believe Dean has either never seen or has forgotten "It's a Wonderful Life". There must be a reason behind that.
-Aw, Castiel saving up to get a protective tattoo. Might have been doable by someone less officially in business for cheaper, or even by himself given the location, but better to go with a place where it can be done in a very short time with far lower risk of infection and less chance of getting some line a little bit wrong and having it turn into a beacon instead of a ward.
-Castiel's discussion in the church with the faithful lady. That was gorgeous, and I think, rather necessary.
-Not sure about mercenary Reapers, but okay.
-Tie Report: Dean's tie, strong multiple stripes slanting down towards Sam - on the job on multiple levels and focused heavily on Sam. Sam's tie, grey mesh-looking design - present, but in a holding pattern, due to not being alone in his head. Guy they're talking to's tie, brown and bauble-y. It seems to be getting ready for Christmas.

-Dean on ingredient labels: "I read pie. The rest is just blah, blah, blah." Ah, Dean, never change.
-The Reaper mercenary was the worst tail ever and if the boys hadn't noticed him and either done something or lead him off on a wild goose chase or confronted him, I would have been rather disappointed in them. Though if these merc Reapers are under Death's aegis, he's gonna be pissed about that whole torture and killing thing, but really, what kind of a Reaper is that easily caught and is so bound to the physical plane that he can't pop out even to save his own existence? Weird. They must be the interns of the Reaper cadre. *nods*
-The reveal on April made me considerably more comfortable with a lot of the choices she seemed to be making, like blowing off a shift at work to spend quality time at home with a guy she found lurking on her front stoop.
-I applaud Castiel's nice bit of logic while under torture about how since his grace was the key to the spell, maybe he's the counter-key to it. Could be total crap, but still, nice thinking under pressure.
-Dean's voice going all breaky when Castiel's dead, oh my god, and the killing me with his face.

-Now. "Zeke" saving Castiel could be a) yes Castiel's on to something with that 'I'm a spell component' thing, b) he's an awesome vessel and those are in short supply, and maybe "Zeke" is planning for further down the road, or c) "Zeke" is trying to forestall any later "Why the hell didn't you even try to save Cas?" questions from Dean and is trying to solidify his standing as a 'good guy' angel, particularly by saving Castiel at an obvious personal cost.
-Dean's bullshit story about a deal with April. "You lied."/"I did. I do that." Yes. Quite a lot. And so, SO badly.
-"Zeke" showing early signs of turning into a blackmailer by basically saying if Cas stays, he'll have to let Sam die seems a bit at odds with his saving Castiel, but it makes sense. In his current state, Castiel evidently can't sense which angel is inside Sam, but since he apparently knows Ezekiel, "Zeke"'s performance wouldn't hold up under close scrutiny, and so he can't be living in close quarters with Castiel no matter why he decided to save his life. Pragmatic, tactical, cold, and very telling.
-Which of course leads to endless sad puppy faces everywhere.

Supernatural 9.04 - "Slumber Party"
-OH MY GOD YES. I just have to say that right now, and if the CW wants a spin-off and they can clear it with the Baum estate or whoever, I WANT CHARLIE AND DOROTHY IN OZ AS A SPIN OFF. Anyway, back to the episode.
-BACKSTORY!!! \o/
-When you have the king of Hell cooling his heels in your secret torture room and leave him there unguarded and unwatched, close the secret doors of your secret torture room.
-Love the old tech. LOVE the old tech and wonder how hard props and set design had to look to find some of those old computer tubes etc. On an in show note, why were the Men of Letters keeping a bottle of easily angered grey goop in their computer room?
-"But I kinda wish.. hunting was more... magical. Y'know?" The eyerolling and faces are epic.

-Game of Thrones marathon slumber party with beer and Sam kvetching about spoilers and the books and just *FLAILING ALL OVER EVERYTHING* because family and stuff.
-"This isn't our home, it's where we work."/"There's a difference?" Awwwww, Dean.
-YAY TIME TRAVEL VIA EASILY ANGERED GREY GOOP! \o/
-And the Wicked Witch finds Crowley and has a chat using crayons and this is exactly why you close the secret doors of your secret torture room. SAM.
-Crowley hissing is a thing of awesome.

-The key's the thingy from the 'exploring the bunker' montage in season 8 sometime! YAY CONTINUITY!
-CHARLIE TAKING THE HIT FOR DEAN. CHARLIE TAKING THE HIT FOR DEAN. OH MY GOD I MAY HAVE SCREAMED.
-AND THEN DEAN HAS THIS FACE.

-AND THEN SAM COMES RUNNING IN AND DEAN OUTS "ZEKE" AND GETS HIM TO SAVE CHARLIE AND FLAILING EVERYWHERE BECAUSE ADOPTED WINCHESTER RITE OF PASSAGE PLUS BREAKING "ZEKE"'S COVER TO SAVE CHARLIE, PLUS, JUST, THINGS AND STUFF AND YEAH. \o/
-"I told you to stay in the dungeon."/"I bet you say that to all the girls." In the sleepy 'just back from the dead' voice and still being snarky and I genuinely do not care what anyone else wants, I WANT MORE CHARLIE SNARKING WITH THE WINCHESTERS.
-Meanwhile, Sam has got to be wondering why he keeps waking up in weird places after something happened, and now, why Dean called him Zeke. Also meanwhile, Dean continues to suck at lying. And he called Sam 'Sammy' *grins everywhere*
-"Can we be best friends now?" Awwwwwww.

-"You're not a real hunter unless you've died and come back again." Well, probably good to know that it's not just a Winchester thing, or at least it wasn't in the 1930's.
-I love the retelling of Oz, because if it was a real place, it certainly would not be as bright and happy as the movie or even the books made it seem.
-"I don't have any memories of 'home' and whenever I've tried to make a home of my own it really hasn't ended well." Really? Now? I mean OMG YAY THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT STUFF THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT BACK IN SEASON 1 OR WHATEVER, but really, NOW? Also AWWWWWWWWWWWWW Sam doesn't want to make the Bunker his home because he figures he'll jinx it! Awww, Sammy. *smishes him*
-Interesting that the witch's green eye-flash possession wasn't immediately countered by "Zeke". I mean I can understand why it wasn't impeded by the anti-possession tattoos, because it's a different dimension's magic, but "Zeke" was in there first. Maybe he was still passed out after healing Charlie? Or... Hmm. *ponders*
-THAT GARAGE. THOSE CARS. THE BIKES. JUST. DAAAAAAAMN.

-Meep.

-She's not destroying Oz, she's planning an invasion! Yes! It's season 9, BRING ON THE FLYING MONKEYS. \o/
-Having her tongue cut out could make the spell difficult if it has any verbal components. Also makes giving orders difficult, but possession is handy for that. Talk through another person.

-HI OZ. HI MONKEYS. I'm thinking that spell was to target the door's access to near the Witch's own castle. Otherwise, Oz is a really frigging huge place and door access might tend to seek out any random part of the yellow brick road or something.

-I do realize that technically, Charlie's Mary Sue factors are a tad off the chain in this episode, but I really don't care. YAY CHARLIE!! \o/

-On second thought, maybe I'll pass on the flying monkeys.

-HI CAR! IN THE GARAGE OF AWESOME. YES.

-"You have no idea how odd it is having a series of books written about you." And that's when I aspirated club soda.
-"Am I a zombie now? Do I need to eat brains?" I keep saying it. I love Charlie! \o/
-"As long as you don't mind me taking it for a spin once in a while." Dean Winchester on a motorcycle. Ooo.
-Charlie and Dorothy in Oz. Just yay. I mean, YAY. And seriously, spin that off. But also bring Charlie back to hang out with Sam and Dean and Cas and everyone now and then.

-ACTUAL MULLET ROCK. AC/DC 'For Those About To Rock' to close out the episode. YAY!
-"Think she'll be back?"/"Of course. There's no place like home." AWWWW SAMMMYYYYYYYYYY \o/

Two down, nineteen to go! Try to avoid including anything from episodes past 9.04 in comments if you comment!
