SPN Ficlet: One Second More
Title: One Second More
Summary: Spoilers for Season 2. Missing scene for Simon Said, POV Dean on the hill. Drabbleish. Probably half a hundred versions of this on the 'net by now, heh.
Characters: Dean
Classification: missing scene, Simon Said, ficlet
Rating: T!!!
Warnings: Spoilers for Season 2. Freaking dark. Suicide thoughts.
Word Count: 178 words
Disclaimer: They aren't mine.
"I see you." Looking through the scope, Dean saw Webber's lips move on the road below and heard Webber's voice in his head. /You know you'll only fail him. You know he's ours. Put that gun under your chin and pull the trigger./ "Bye bye."
Of course I'll fail Sam. Dad wouldn't have, but dad died to bring me back. Dad laid what he'd been hiding from us on me, and then died. He told me that and expects me to handle it, when he's known since I was ten that I'm a screw up? Dean turned the rifle around, put the barrel under his chin. Webber's right. I should be dead anyway, so what difference will this make. His finger tightened on the trigger.
The shot echoed across the dam. Dean watched Webber fall, felt Webber's compulsion drop away. Let his chin rest on the barrel of the gun one second more. Closed his eyes tightly, eyebrows bunching. One second more.
With a noise of disgust he threw the rifle aside, into the underbrush, and scrambled down the hill to Sam.

I guess that would be what Dean thought during Simon said
Got your review reply. Well, poor Australians need to wait for Doctor Who as well. Does the three way global culture exchange include Australia, Canada, and America (or UK)? Or do you group Canada and America together? :)
I wish I have the mind control power like in "Simon Said" and influence someone to make a great Australian sci-fi/horror/fantasy. That would be using the power for good :) I do not want anyone die to get the power though.
Re: I guess that would be what Dean thought during Simon said
Canada kind of gets most US programming with hardly any difficulty, so I was kind of counting Canada/US as one arm, since half their sci-fi shows are filmed in Canada anyway. Although the CBC apparently has some kind of co-operation deal with the BBC on Season three of the new Doctor Who and on Torchwood, so there's a kind of Canada/UK arm there as well. Australia needs to join in somehow, and there's a kind of odd three-way of four participants.
Really though, simultaneous global release of good TV shows would be great.

Yeah, that dying thing is always a drawback. :-D

Let me see if I can lobby the TV programmers to produce good Australian shows. :-D
Well, I think they try to do the global release of "Jericho", although I think it is not very popular.
