SPN Fanart: Not Out of the Woods Yet.

(Twiddling with graphic stuff today because anytime I try to even access the TWoP forums, never mind log in, my browser crashes. I'm waiting for them to get whatever issue they're having straightened out, because it is seriously driving me nuts.)
(They fixed it! Yay!)

So, anyway, I've been looking through older screencaps, matching up pictures of Jensen Ackles and Jared Padelecki from earlier points in their respective acting careers to try to do a (totally gen, because that's all I do :-) ) picture of Sam and Dean in Pre-Stanford times. I don't really do graphics like this often, so I hope it's okay.

This is the result.

"Not Out of the Woods Yet" by CaffieneKitty

Heh, so, here we have Sam and Dean, circa 2001, rescuing Little Miss Monster Chow from several red-eyed nasty things lurking in the woods.

What I did, if anyone really wants to know, is isolated Jared and the young actress* from a cap from Gilmore Girls episode "Love, Daisies and Troubadours" (found on this page at Supernatural.tv), isolated Jensen from a cap from from Dark Angel episode "Pollo Loco" (found at Jensen Acklesfans.com), tweaked the lighting and color balance, filled in Jared's missing elbow (which is why it's unusually lumpy, hehe), bloodied them up a tiny bit, and plunked them into a picture I took in a local park. I also added six red-eyed playmates that I drew myself into the background. I hope they show up okay... they're being stealthy *grin* Programs used were Corel Photo-paint and Corel Draw.

(1/14/07-2:04PM PST - Tweaked graphic slightly to try and fix Jared's elbow and get rid of some of the residual cropping nimbus around Jensen)

*I apologize for not having the name of the young actress from Gilmore Girls, but she looked freaked enough to be a Person in Peril that Sam and Dean are in the process of saving from monsters. I couldn't find her name on IMDB, I'll add her name when I find it.

If you take it (no idea why anyone would want to, but *shrug*), please comment and credit me for slapping it together.

So, yeah, anyway, there it is. What do you think?

Hee! That's cool! And very nicely done. Too bad there aren't many pictures of Jared around 14 or 15 'cause I think it would be very cool to do this with him at that age and some of JA's DOOL pics.

And unfortunately, I wouldn't expect seeing a different main topic on TWoP anytime soon. ;-)

I haven't been able to access TWOP for about 32 hours now.
Oy. That does suck, and that's really odd. As for the topic, "Hunted" was quite a polarizing ep. ;-)

Ah, yes. I have had problems with the TWOP ads before too. Mostly with IE. I use Firefox at home and haven't had the problem with that.

Re: Ep - Heh, well, it will be interesting for you when you can get back on. The ep thread is at 48 pages and counting.

I dig it! You did a nice job with the proportions, and I'd never know Jared was missing his right arm.

Nice touch adding the little red-eyed critters. :)

[identity profile] graziaplena.livejournal.com 2007-01-15 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, then you did a really good job fixing his arm, because I'd never have noticed otherwise.

Looks like your Crack!Demon prophecy was accurate after all, huh? :)

I know! MY SOUL IS ON THOSE BOARDS Uh, I mean, I have expended so much energy engaging in those discussions, it's pathetic, and scary, and I will wail and gnash my teeth if they're all gone.

I'm jonesing so badly for discussion that I took a peek at the IMDB boards and.....*shudder*. No no no, never ever ever again.

But, hey, it's been a few months since I've watched "In My Time of Dying" -- maybe that will hold me until TWoP rises again...
