The poem was pinned to the fridge with a novelty magnet in the shape of a skull.

There once was a wanker named Sherlock,
Who made an explosion at 4 o’clock
The source of the din?
Seems he blew a wall in
By rocket-propelling a cin der block.

“Really John, your rhyme scheme is woeful, and even for pure doggerel none of the lines scan properly.”

“I don’t care!” John shoved a putty knife and a tube of PolyFilla into Sherlock’s hands. “Before Mrs Hudson sees it, you and I are going to repair the hole that you blew in the wall. At 4 AM. With a rocket!”

“Such hyperbolic drivel.” Sherlock huffed. “The wall’s not ‘blown in’, merely dented, and the block wasn’t propelled by a rocket, it was-“

John snarled. “Shut up and spackle.”
