News about Kripke

OMG Yay! I think!

Kripke's got a two-year deal of some kind with Warner Bros. (no spoilers behind link, mention of S3 finale events, and there's one line of minor spec re: spin offs) I know there's a fresh spoiler or two out there, so tread carefully if you go googling.

I'm not sure exactly what this means for the show, but damn it sounds like this is a really good thing! Two years takes us through Season Five, and Warner as a supporter makes it seem a lot likelier that the show will survive when if the CW utterly tanks. I think? *headscratch*

Regardless, it sounds like an awesome thing for Eric Kripke, so I believe a WOOHOO! is appropriate? WOOHOO! Way to go, dude!

Yes, I'm posting from work. I needed to share my tenative glee. Snoopy IT guy can bite me. ;-P

(I need to make a better Kripke icon :-P)

It's great that the deal was with Warner Brothers themselves. I'm looking forward to seeing what projects he'll give us (and I'm crossing my fingers that new projects don't take him away from Supernatural; I don't know if I'd quite trust Sera Gamble as a show runner, lol). I'm pretty sure it also means that if something happens to the CW after this season that Supernatural has a better chance of showing up on another WB property to finish up its 5th season.

Sera is awesome, but yeah she scares me a little. Supernatural is Kripke's dream project, and he's got his five-year plan. I don't think there's much chance of him wandering off. :-)

I know! Two things bug me about it though. A) there was a short-lived series called "Dead Man's Gun" that it might get unavourably compared to, and B) I'm reading Kripke's freaking mind again, because I seem to already be writing a crossover with that theoretical series in the latter half of Quantum Rock. o.O (when I get to it. Arg.)

Supernatural's his dream project, and I don't think there's any chance he'll lose sight of it. He's got a five year plan for the series and has said often in interviews that he has never varied from the plan all along. He's apparently got a wall of 3X5 index cards he won't let anyone see that has the entire mytharc of the series planned out.
