That oddly prominent hotel room key fob slide in 4.07 is making me think we might be getting a 'Haunted Hotel Room' Monster of the Week episode this year, and that shot was there so it can go into the future THEN montage for it to break up the shots of room interiors and hotel signage.

I know there's a few 'Haunted Room' movies in the horror genre, although I haven't seen any myself. With all the time the boys spend in hotels and motels, it makes sense.

Not looking for confirmation or denial or anything, just pondering. That shot being there is just bugging me, like there's some significance to it I'm missing because it's so prominent.

Could there not be some kind of numerology, demon lore, or SPN cast/crew in-joke involved? Not that I don't want a Haunted Hotel episode, because that would be fantastic, but… *shrugs*

I don't know. I googled "Moonlight Motel" and the hits didn't seem relevant. Could be an in joke I guess.

I wonder about it, too. The hotel room number was so visible in 4.01. It must be an in joke, methinks. But who knows? They had the whole haunted hotel in "Playthings," but that's not to say they couldn't do a haunted room.

They did say that there was going to be more stuff done in hotel sets to save on the budget, didn't they? I think I saw that somewhere over the hiatus.

ETA: Hey. Isn't there a haunted room movie called '1408'? That's the year "Sam Hane" would have been trying to plan his previous 'evil guys kegger' in the episode... or is that too much of a stretch?

I like the idea of a haunted room. Really four seasons and they always have a non-superatural room? Show is falling down on those urban ledgends. I honestly thought the shot of the key fob was because they needed a transition more than anything but I'm dull like that. :^) Now I need to watch it again.

It's just such a weird transition, to have the text on the key fob so visible, and not have it be something that's an obvious shout-out. I probably read too much into things.
