Retail therapy is good for the economy.

Nothing brightens up a crap day like new toys reference material arriving in the mail. I now have The Doctor Who Encyclopedia (...so...shiny...) and the Supernatural Season 2 Companion, and a wodge of credit card debt I didn't really need, but meh.

I also have "Bone Key" but given reviews I've seen, I'm viewing that as the slightly suspect lima bean lurking in the pie. However, I like lima beans, so... *shrug* It's all going in my teetering 'To Read' pile, but I may be forced to keep the Encyclopedia handy for quick reference. ;-D

I has new books too!

I'm in the middle of "The Given Day" by Dennis Lehane. Awaiting my attention: Big Stevie King's new collection of short stories, "The Glass Castle" by Jeannette Walls, and Obama's memoir.

Tie-in novels are like Twinkies. No actual nutrition, but the sugar can be an amusement.

Right there with you. I've just bought Approaching the Possible: The World of Stargate SG-1 (since I'm currently having a Stargate period) and the Torchwood annual. I LOVE AND ADORE Torchwood; Captain Jack just makes my life brighter.

Bone Key's not too bad. Not as good as the stuff we read online for free, but digestible. And it's the boys. In a book. Love the boys. Love books. All good.

sweet!

I broke down and got the Season 1 & 2 companions....hey! that makes us newly-arrived-SPN-season 2-companion-buddies!! :D

(I made myself feel less guilty by getting Gok's books at the same time which I'd seen for twice the price in Ireland, so.... :D)
