This is freaking me out. All I did was add punctuation and stanza breaks, and fudge a couple calls on where the first line ended.

Once I was the King of Spain.
Feels like the weight of the world.

The cage is very small

This was a triumph.
Tonight I'm gonna have myself such a good time
I said the joker is a wanted man.
Well I wanted you, wanted no one else.
Life, it seems to fade away.

Um. EEEEEEEK. O.O SOOOO, someone who thinks they are the former King of Spain has abducted a former close acquaintance and is keeping them in a cage and tormenting them for sick, twisted jollies until they die. Yeow. My work playlist is a delusional obsessed psycho!



The at Home on iTunes poem is freakishly epic

It was late at night on the open road,
And in that dark place that hope had abandoned long ago:
"Look on the horizon, what do my eyes behold?"
Down the line, coming down the line.

About the time that Daddy left to fight the big war.
In a foreign field he lay,
His eyes are closed and his last words spoke,
"Sail away where no ball and chain can keep us from the roarin' waves."

Master, Apprentice, Hartborne, Seventh Seeker.
Here we go for the hundredth time,
Don't call my name in battle.
Heartbreaker, soul-shaker,
I walk a lonely road.
"What do I do to ignore them behind me?"
I can't escape this hell.

On this ground I lay,
In this farewell, there's no blood, there's no alibi.
Cast off the crutch that kills the pain.
I'm sailing away,
It's time to start.

Okay, so, there's some kind of ominous war thing brewing, memory of a father dying in a battle, and then epic angsty combat and more dying in battle, only possibly in a epic 'death is but a doorway/apotheosis' kind of way. (Why am I suddenly thinking of Winchesters?) Still grim, but at least it's not locking people in cages for fun.

Really? Hee! That's funky. I hate to admit it, but I've never closely listened to the lyrics of that one. It's just 'the song to shoot your werewolf by' and I get inappropriately snickery when it comes on.

So... the psycho who thinks he was once the King of Spain?

The next poem is about him. It's about a King dying on a battlefield like his father did before him.

The psycho is probably singing it to whoever he's got in the cage.

Dude. If you're life was a movie? The cops would be calling you to tell you HE'S IN THE HOUSE. GET OUT OF THE HOUSE NOW!
