Poll: My Bloody Valentine 3D

I was unexpectedly overtaken by a bout of glee over "My Bloody Valentine 3D" at work today. It was very unexpected since I'm not into slasher films and had been kind of neutral except for the "Oh cool, Jensen's in a movie that might actually make it to my hometown theatre and video store" factor. However, today I am suffused with glee so here, have a (longish) poll.

No spoilers please! Guessing and hoping only! :-D

[Poll #1328414]

ETA: Gah. Please pardon the assorted spelling errors in the poll. *facepalm*

i hate horror/gore films yet i am so excited about going to see this. i got the day off work so i can watch it during daylight hours with [livejournal.com profile] paleogymnast i want to see jensen but i might still have my hands over my eyes for half the film, so i'll probably have to sit through another viewing of it... :D

Dude, I got a ticket for the special showing Thursday night!! **GLEE** I am going to be SO worthless at work on Friday, but I totally don't care.

I'm not into slasher movies, and I don't like gore, but I'll be at the earliest showing on Friday that I can get to. Trying to get the afternoon off, so maybe the theater won't be too crowded. Don't know any other SPN fans in the area, so I'm going alone. Happy to see I'm not the only one hoping for naked :) I think there'd be so much potential for that in 3D.

3-D

Hey there
Lurking Wombat here to tell you that the new system of 3-D totally rocks!!!
Journey to the Center of the Earth was in 3-D and i saw it 3 times in the theatre. The glasses were cool and the effects blew me away!!
That said, there is no way i will see MBV3D in the theatre. I can't do horror films as they bother me way to much and the Supernatural connection isn't there as i have still only seen sporadic episodes. Sorry C-Kitty :(
But the effects are fantastic!! Waiting for Lucas to re-do Star Wars in the new 3-D style and then i WILL see that in the theatre
Lurking Wombat (who knows the answer to that classic question:
3-D or not 3-D? That is the question.

[identity profile] wynterwolf47.livejournal.com 2009-01-10 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
Apparently they are showing it in a lot of the 3D theaters the night before (as one blogger put it, the way they do Big Budget movies).

The theaters in my area (there's 4 of them) are having both a 10pm and a 12:15am showing, but I'm a lightweight so I'm going to the 10pm show. And yeah, I will be missing the end of the new ep, but since I TiVo, I generally don't watch the eps at airing anyway.

This is going to be so cool!!! :-D

[identity profile] brigid-tanner.livejournal.com 2009-01-10 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
*boggles* HAHAHAHAHA! Oh lordy! I didn't even think of the 3D! Hee! *facepalm*

Obviously, my mind lives in the gutter, cause that was my first thought on hearing he was making a 3D movie ;) My best friend was horrified ;)

[identity profile] sandrinnad.livejournal.com 2009-01-10 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
so I'm the 'ewwwww, not going to see it ever!!' because Jensen is Jensen, but gore is gore and ya.... :D

and I was very good and restrained myself from the 'naked' option :D (you are soooooo cruel! :D)

As alot of your commenters, I also am not a fan of gore. Which really, how ironic being an obsessed fan of SPN and not liking gore. Anyway, I'm trying to find a thetre that will play it in 3d by me. It is proving difficult. Is an IMAX thetre guaranteed to play 3d? Cause then the closest one I have is 34 miles away. And I'll go to it. I swear I will!

And apparently I can't spell THEATER for the freaking life of me. *rolls eyes*

So, I saw a trailer for this when J and Wombat and I went to see The Spirit(which is brilliant). I agree that the 3d technology is astounding, and I am considering going by myself just because, well, it is Jensen and I am a hopeless nutter..lol I clapped my hands in glee when I saw the trailer *cough*. I have been watching horror since I was a kid--gore and all, and while I am not a huge fan of the gore genre, it will be worth it just for the obvious reasons. I never though of the other aspects of 3D and Jensen *huge innocent eyes*. Actually, I hadn't..but I am sure the gutter in my brain would have caught up eventually..lol So after all this rambling--I may see it just to squee by myself in a darkened theatre--I will try to control the laughter and flailing but sitting farrr in the back:P

*L* I actually see it in my head as theatre also, but that "a" just up and ran off there.

[identity profile] malevolent73.livejournal.com 2009-01-10 07:40 am (UTC)(link)
Oh Raoul, how I miss that stinker.

And I am so not a theatre-goer (ha, caught you "a") that I have no clue if "Journey to the Center of the Earth" was offered in 3d anywhere around here. I'll find out where it is eventually, I like having a mission anyway (like your Jensen headphones debacle!). :)

007 out.

It undoubtedly makes me a *very* bad fangirl, but I can't work up any excitement about this movie at all. I don't like slasher movies to begin with (although I did think the original Halloween was well done, back when I first saw it in 1979) and I keep holding out hope that Jensen will get a good, meaty role in a kickass indy film that I can watch 150 times.

This? I'm waiting for the DVD. There's just *nothing* about this that interests me. (Ditto with Jared's latest project.)

I'm either making my big sister go with me, or my two cousins who don't get scared at ANYTHING. They were watching Alien at three years old, so this movie shouldn't bother them.

[identity profile] spndpfrdcrck.livejournal.com 2009-01-10 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm honestly unsure if I'll go see it. If I do, I want to see it in 3d even though it will scare the crap outta me cuz horror movies in 2d scare me...in 3d? Yeaaah I'll have nightmares. Thing is, I'd have to drive 2 hours one way to see it in 3d and I'd be alone...I think I'll wait to see the reaction first then decide if it's worth it or not. If not I'll probably wait for the DVD

No, I understand, I wouldn't go out of my way to see a slasher any other time myself. I don't even watch them on pay per view or whatever later, normally. But yes, I think I am committed too--in more ways than one:P Here's hoping you get some hermit time this weekend;)

but I've heard a tiny bit about the movie and I'm very curious to see what he does with the role

I have to admit to wild curiousity, because I'm sure he's fabulous, but I just don't think I can *sigh* I'll depend on you for a general report and possibly a highlights reel eventually? :D

I just wanted to tell you that MBV here at my theatre(across the road even), so I will have to go sometime soon. I don't know how long it will last. Which means it could be headed your way soon then;) I think I will almost get up early to see the Metropolitan Opera's production of "Damnation of Faust" by Berlioz too, but I know, I have very strange taste:P It's Berlioz, modern take with giant screens, so ya know. Anway, just wanted to let you know MBV is on the island.

Hugs

Well I didn't make it to the Metropolitan Opera today..bleh. I won't spoil anything for you for MBV though--although I won't see it til next week either I suspect. Hope your work schedule at least leaves you some time to breathe? Maybe?

Hugs
