Schedule panic and graphic fiddling.

My thought process this afternoon:

*looks at the calendar*
Oh crap. The culmination of the week that never ends, April 30th, my 16+ hour workday that goes 'til midnight and later, is on a Thursday this year....
*does some quick counting from new eps restarting with 4.15 on March 12th*
*lands Supernatural episode 4.22 on April 30th*
*swears*
*counts again*
*4.22 lands on April 30th again*
Oh hell no.

Someone please tell me there's, like, a two-week hiatus sometime in March or April and I'm not going to be stuck at work and be a total brain-dead zombie for whenever I do get a chance to watch the Season 4 finale, probably not for several days afterwards??? O.O



Aside from that, in an unexpected moment of joy at work, I was asked to mess around with some new graphic tools. This hardly ever happens. Result under the cut in case anyone's interested.

It's not anything fantastic, just an slightly tweaked very familiar pic of Dean.

Why is that such a bad week at work for you? Some kind of deadline? You're probably right about April 30th being the finale, since we seem to end close to Sam's birthday each year.

Like the graphic! Nice to get a little play time at work occasionally.

Arg arg arg. April 30th is the deadline for Canadian incone tax returns, and I work at a place that among everything else, does taxes. From about mid-April through early May, I work seven day/60hr weeks, and the 30th is Hell Day. :-(

Also, yes, this week is two major deadlines relating to pre-tax stuff. Once those pass the stress eases off a bit but generally speaking, work only gets worse from here until July. :-P

Nice to get a little play time at work occasionally.

Not exactly play, but I stretched the definition of 'software testing' to include 'fiddling around with a pic of Jensen.' :-)

Seriously, there is no way to get any time off, even weekends, at the end of April. Gaaaaah.

Kryptonsite.com has Smallville's season finale scheduled for May 14, and they're rarely wrong. Plus, SPN has finished up in May every year - the past 2 seasons, the same week as the network upfronts (mid-May). April 30? Not gonna happen.

This is the Smallville schedule for the final 8, according to Kryptonsite: 3/12, 3/19, 3/26, 4/2, 4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/14. I assume SPN's final 8 would run on the same dates. So, there'll be an episode on your mega-work day, but not the finale. :)

Relax, the reason they call it May sweeps is that the big sweep sampling happens in May. These figures allow the networks to set the rates for commercials for next year. The CW is not going to allow one of its highest rated shows end before May. You should have time to catch up on the earlier episodes and then enjoy the finale in peace.

See and even though I've been following Supernatural's ratings closer than I ever followed the hockey scores, I was not consciously aware that the sweeps were in May. Arg. Thanks for the info! :-)
