Eek. By *next* week I should be able to join in the ThursdayThursdayThursday Supernatural fun. :) (I only discovered the show about 2 weeks ago, so I still have 3 eps of season 3 and all of season 4 thus far to catch up on before I can join in the actual broadcast fun.)
[By the by, you may have noticed I friended you-- I hope that's okay.]
Yes, it pretty much definitely is. My only question is why the heck I was unaware of the awesomeness of this show before last week??? Does the CW advertise it ever??? I mean, I knew it existed but had never known more than it was about some brothers who fought demons. Thank goodness for Netflix is all I can say (and in short order I was owning 3 seasons on DVD and a season pass to season 4 through iTunes. Sigh.)
Compared to the other CW shows? NO. *kicks network*
I actually watched the very first episode, way back when it first aired in '05. Then I had a nightmare, so I didn't watch again until the ninth ep aired, because it looked cool. And I've been completey enthralled ever since.
So, what about it caught your fancy two weeks ago?
Honestly, it was really random. A friend of mine is really into Gilmore Girls-- has the first 5 seasons-- and she played a few episodes while I was at her house. I thought it was catchy-- I liked the snappy dialogue. So I borrowed them, and watched the first two seasons or so. And then I randomly recalled that Hey, isn't that one guy on some other show? With demons and stuff? I like demons and stuff... let's Netflix it, thought me. So I did, and the rest is history-- I gobbled down the first four episodes like crazy (although was admittedly creeped out while trying to fall asleep that first night), bumped all of SPN to the top of the Netflix queue, then decided *that* was too slow, bought season 3, and then bought them all... (Still haven't finished watching Gilmore Girls, heh.) And now, I am obsessed. :)
It was actually the opposite for me: I started with SN and then worked outward, till I now own pretty much everything either of the Js has been in, and a couple with JDM, too. *sigh*
I have a rule that I will not watch horror movies (horror-tv is apparently ok) without someone else, preferably someone who doesn't mind being hugged during the scary bits. Unfortunately, I live alone and don't have any horror-liking friends in AZ, and so that pretty much leaves me out of much of the rest of the Js' filmographies... I may have to bend that rule, though. :D
But what about Ten Inch Hero and New York Minute? They're not horror. And NYM is totally addicting. I originally rented it just to watch the Jared scenes, and then somehow started watching it with lilsis and had to rewind it back to the beginning so I could see the whole thing.
I mean. It's horrible, but just so... something.
Needless to say, I own it now.
But, yeah, I saw F13 and MBV at the theater with my sister and a friend. *shudders*
::giggle:: Glad you approve. I was actually getting nervous that you'd be annoyed by the comment hijacking! :D But at least we were more-or-less on-topic. :D

Wow, that's a mind-altering pace you've got there! A friend of mine did the same thing last hiatus. It's an addictive show, and I'm glad you found it, it needs to be watched by more people.

...Yeah... Thankfully it was Spring Break and I'm finished with course-work. I had to leave the house, though, to grade student midterms so that I wouldn't just blow them off to watch all of SPN back-to-back-to-back! (For the record, I just watched 4.04, so it looks like I really will be ready for this Thursday!!)
There are several things about this show which are mind-boggling, the main two of which are: 1- How addictive it is 2- How I'd heard of it, but not EVER seen it advertised, so that I missed out on it for THREE SEASONS
Oh! And welcome to my friends list! I have not, in the past, tended to talk much about fandom, but hopefully you'll still find me vaguely interesting. :) (And SPN is fast turning into the exception anyway... hee.)
You have no idea how fast I scroll and switch windows at work when you use that icon. The majority of my office including my boss, are devout "here, let me get you an exorcist" Catholics. XD
I love that icon. It makes me feel subversive. >.>
Good things come to those who wait? Patience is a virtue? If I had the power to enable simultaneous global airtimes for Supernatural (and Torchwood, and Doctor Who, and what the heck, Chuck) I totally would.
Hon, I am so with you. I woke up four times last night and in between had horrific dreams in which I was Buffy going to college and getting lost and accidentally beating up a classmate. (Don't know what my subconscious is doing.)
And it's Friday here and I have no Supernatural to look forward to and I still have a sermon to write and life is just gahhhhhh ...
Must shower. Must face the day, even if day is going to suck!

The addictiveness speaks for itself, though. I've watched from the start, but didn't really get rabid until mid-first season. :-)
