Random Saturday Night thoughts
-What if there's a redemption arc next season for Lucifer? What if they try to get him to un-Fall? And it works?
-What if God hasn't 'left the building' but is stepping back to see what the Angels do when left to their own initiative? What they do when given the opportunity to develop and exercise free will? Who stays true to the ideals of Heaven and who goes for the big showy power grab? Maybe God's down-sizing?
-I'm fighting with the plot-bunnies. As usual after a finale, there's a big new bruiser in town and it's scaring the crap out of the rest of them. I'm letting it run for a bit. So far it's feeling like episode 5.01, with about as much resolution, and I'm nervous to post any of it because the last thing I need is another WIP. Not a whine, just a situation report.

"It has happened before...it will happen again" situation. (HAI, Ron Moore!)
Season premiere and perhaps 2 other episodes where the boys (and Cas and Bobby?) run around frantic because Lucifer is out. I would say, probably also worrying about Sam going darkside. Then...they'll ignore the whole situation for the bulk of the season, while they pursue ordinary cases with some tenuous connection to the Hell problem. Episode 20 will bring us back to the freaking out. Lucifer will be defeated in 22.
Pardon my mild disdain for the whole thing. I'm one of the (many?) folk who think 4.22 was a lightly seasoned dose of *meh*. And I'm still pissed at Jim Beaver for heavily abetting the "Bobby dies" foiler. I was all prepared for it, and when it didn't happen, I went "Uhhh...HEY!"
Bunnies? #200 is at 13,000 words and still growing. Might be your guy's twin brother.

I felt bad for Kripke and gang last season. They had cancellation in mind, and were prepared to go out with a bang. But nooooo. Ratings! *pulls back the reigns* Maybe one day we'll find out how that end game would have played out.
By the way, I was a bad flistie and didn't comment, but I loved your ep review.
Zen! I haz reached thee.

And IF Kripke shows Lucifer in the first episode, what about him being a her?
I'm waiting for your bunnies to be released :)

I've got a very different idea of what's going to happen, but I'm kind of twisted that way. And really, I doubt they'll actually rehabilitate Lucifer, but it just struck me as a different way of dealing with things and it amused me.

*grins* They really love messing with you spoilerphiles don't they. The thing with the casting call for Castiel being for a demon, and now this? ;-)
I didn't hear the foiler or see it being pushed, but I still think it'll happen. It's part and parcel with Bobby's place in the story, traditionally, especially if they're drawing on the Hero Cycle. I hate foilers as much as I hate spoilers, because it makes me expect something to happen and not engage with the episode until after it does, so I'm glad I didn't hear this one.

Mine's not so big yet, but he's mean and full of plot-hooks I'll probably never write, and people will not like me for posting it and never continuing past the point it stops, whenever it stops. But I don't post fic so people will like me, I post it to share my brain-disease, so that's all good. ;-)

I'm probably dead wrong, but I've got an idea of one set of possibles for next season that's currently pounding my brain to mush. I'm probably wrong.

I'm glad they got the extra time, not just because "Yay, more Supernatural!" but it gives them time to let things develop more richly, both plot and character-wise. If this had been the last season, I expect this particular event would have happened during February sweeps, there would have been a stunted and very painful short arc dealing with the consequences, and we'd all be crying into our beer right now. Now, maybe they've got enough time to work out a less 'crying into our beer' ending for that arc.
By the way, I was a bad flistie and didn't comment, but I loved your ep review.
*wibbles* You didn't comment? *is joking* I'm guilty of that. I read stuff and my mind goes totally blank. Glad you liked it.

Hm. Because then it won't be as funny when Dean calls him 'Lucy'? I don't know. I have a strong suspicion I know what's going to happen there, though.

Heh. This one is nasty, and open-ended.

I still suspect Anna of being up to something, but I'll definitely agree with you regarding Castiel.
