Random Saturday Night thoughts

-What if there's a redemption arc next season for Lucifer? What if they try to get him to un-Fall? And it works?

-What if God hasn't 'left the building' but is stepping back to see what the Angels do when left to their own initiative? What they do when given the opportunity to develop and exercise free will? Who stays true to the ideals of Heaven and who goes for the big showy power grab? Maybe God's down-sizing?

-I'm fighting with the plot-bunnies. As usual after a finale, there's a big new bruiser in town and it's scaring the crap out of the rest of them. I'm letting it run for a bit. So far it's feeling like episode 5.01, with about as much resolution, and I'm nervous to post any of it because the last thing I need is another WIP. Not a whine, just a situation report.

You know what I think is going to happen? It's a
"It has happened before...it will happen again" situation. (HAI, Ron Moore!)

Season premiere and perhaps 2 other episodes where the boys (and Cas and Bobby?) run around frantic because Lucifer is out. I would say, probably also worrying about Sam going darkside. Then...they'll ignore the whole situation for the bulk of the season, while they pursue ordinary cases with some tenuous connection to the Hell problem. Episode 20 will bring us back to the freaking out. Lucifer will be defeated in 22.

Pardon my mild disdain for the whole thing. I'm one of the (many?) folk who think 4.22 was a lightly seasoned dose of *meh*. And I'm still pissed at Jim Beaver for heavily abetting the "Bobby dies" foiler. I was all prepared for it, and when it didn't happen, I went "Uhhh...HEY!"

Bunnies? #200 is at 13,000 words and still growing. Might be your guy's twin brother.

Although I would find a redemption arc for Lucifer to be fascinating, I truly believe that it would totally come at the expense of any kind of arc for Sam. I want the redemption arc to be Sam's, but Kripke tends to get distracted by the shiny, so I would really worry that Sam would get totally lost in this type of arc. If it could be integrated properly, it would be a great idea.

I wonder about S5. There's a lot of potential for good storylines. My biggest question is, how do you pull off standalones with Lucy Goosy out there amongst the people? I suppose they could back peddle a bit and have Lucy set free in stages or something. I'm not gonna over analyze it and worry. I'm in a good place with Show and Kripke, so I'll see what he comes up with.

I felt bad for Kripke and gang last season. They had cancellation in mind, and were prepared to go out with a bang. But nooooo. Ratings! *pulls back the reigns* Maybe one day we'll find out how that end game would have played out.

By the way, I was a bad flistie and didn't comment, but I loved your ep review.

Zen! I haz reached thee.

I do not believe God has left the building. He is still there and maybe we have already seen him.
And IF Kripke shows Lucifer in the first episode, what about him being a her?
I'm waiting for your bunnies to be released :)

Love the "God is down-sizing" and letting them (angels) figure out free-will, seeing who does what. I love that idea. My vote is to run with that. So far Anna and Castiel seem to be exercising free will while maintaining support for humans, aka God's creations. I think He'd like that.
