Watch Star Trek, there are ALWAYS grown-up-type expenses coming, you would't be able to buy a new pair of shoes going by that and seriously you can get a copy of MBV3D in a month or so, too. I totally would watch Star Trek if I could... Anyone wanna babysitt for me?

By the way 10 Dollars?! That's how much cinema costs up there? In Austria I can watch a normally lenghth film at about 5€ (must be around 6$). So actually you could go to cinema AND save a few bucks

I haven't gone yet, and I've never even been a Star Trek fan (ducks rotten fruit), but even I am gonna see it! You must go :)

I'm not even sure I want to see the new Star Trek movie and I think you should go :D

also - boring is always there, dvds are there a long time, but theatre movies are ephemeral and should be enjoyed because of that :D

[identity profile] samalander-dawn.livejournal.com 2009-05-26 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
there was a Trek movie where Data was used as a floatation device? What on earth were the writers on?!

it sounds like you're going (yay!), so have much fun and enjoy the heck out of if :D

The movie you are talking about is Insurrection (at least that was the working title), the second to the last Star Trek movie where there is a planet where people do not age - in fact they become healthier and the Son'ar and a few high members of the Federation want this planet for their own purposes.

There were a few strange moments in this movie but frankly it made a lot more sense than the last one. And no, I'm no Trekki (anymore).

Crash? Hm... Generations? The last one was about the Rihannsu and ...it's all a bit hazy... but I think there was this other bald guy kind of an genetic offspring of Picard or something

I have no interest in ST, but life's too short. Go do something fun with the money. Sod the bills. They're not here yet.

I know someone on the forum who has seen it 5 times, going for a 6th. So I voted just go..lol Really, it was worth seeing on a big screen:) Most fun I have had in general at a movie in a long time.

Never having enough of it is irritating. I would love if you could come down for another movie--that was soooo much fun:) Glad you are going though.

Hugs

I ticked everything ST related. I'm going to see it for a third time tomorrow... Yeah. Grown-up expenses? What are these things of which you speak? Grups are idjits.

GO!!! It turned me back into a Trekkie again, and I don't want to be alone ;) I was pretty much unspoiled for it and loved it greatly.

I refuse to be sucked back into fandom again. Or get appropriate icons. I've got all I can do to keep up with SPN and a little Leverage and Sons of Anarchy thrown in. I can be a Trekkie in the privacy of my own house. Still got Spock ears some-place.

Back when I was active, on-line wasn't even thought of! It was all snail mail and printing fanzines using those blue stencil things...can't remember what they were called, but if you made a typo, you had to start over, and having parties to put the zines together. It was fun back then...more books and less media sci-fi.

Although - trust me - the movie is not necessary to read the fic - I find myself getting snotty. Kirk is not Dean Winchester and Spock is not Sam. They should not sound alike.

And Bones drinks mint juleps - not scotch or bourbon. /fandom snit fit

YOU MUST GO SEE IT NOW.

[identity profile] july-july-july.livejournal.com 2009-05-27 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
GOOD. LIVE LONG AND WATCH THE DAMN MOVIE.

[identity profile] malevolent73.livejournal.com 2009-05-27 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
I'm probably to late for this poll as it's hmmm, 7:30 by you, but you should go see it!!! Dooooo iiiiitttttt!!!! I haven't seen it, but someone who is (or was, whatever) a fan should really see it in the theatre. *nods*

So I am hoping you decided to go to the movie already. I was really impressed with the casting (and really afraid about the whole thing!)
