There is so much really awesome and literary fanfic being produced by this fandom, it's astounding. And daunting as hell as a writer.

Heck, it's astounding and daunting as a READER - I can only imagine how much so it must be for a writer!

FWIW, though, I think you totally hold your own. I'm not just saying that as a friend - y'know, albeit in that weird never-actually-met-you-internet-y sort of way - either. (I have some friends, bless 'em, who are awesome and funny but I quietly avoid their fic because I can't bring myself to lie or make a pathetic comment like, "I...uh...like your correct use of semicolons! *thumbs up*") Much as I love your funny stories, it's been really neat to watch Sherlock bring out a more...thoughtful? poetic? flavour to your writing which easily equals anything else I've read in this fandom. (And given the quality of writing in the fandom, that's saying something!)

*facepalm* I really am some sort of weirdo one-woman cheerleading squad of yours, aren't I? Sorry. :P I promise I do get effusive over other writers too!
