Friday! It's the new THUUUUUURSDAAAAAAAAAAY!!!
Supernatural Season 6 Premieres today! Are you ready? I know I'm not! WAH! \o/
Non-spoiler-influenced theories for season 6
-Of course Sam and Dean will be back together and hunting things. Eventually. The story hasn't come full circle yet, and to do that, that's where they have to end; where they began.
-Sam. Dunno what he is, why he's back, whether he's whole or parts or other or what. I do know that with Sera in charge there is definitely one thing Sam will be: Naked. Or semi-naked. Or sweaty. Or combinations thereof. Frequently. (And I will blush and hide in my shirt collar until the plot comes back. Frequently. XD )
-Lisa and or Ben will likely be grievously imperiled in some way at some point. Hoping neither of them get killed, but this show has a bad track record with the survival of Winchester allies. Also because while the whole Apocalypse thing might be dealt with, all the nasties the Winchesters have been fighting aren't going to just go, "Aw shucks, Dean's retired, let's not bother him in his new normal life in his stationary, relatively undefended suburban house".
-Speaking of evil thingies with grudges, Meg's gotta be pissed. She hitched her wagon to the Morning Star, so to speak, and now her boss is dead. Again.
-If Ben doesn't want to go with Dean when he goes off hunting, I will be faintly disappointed. If Ben does something unbelievably silly like stowing away in the Impala whenever Dean and Sam take off together, I will laugh myself silly. And also cheer. Plus it makes sense from a character arc standpoint to have the boys have to deal with a kid in a hunting situation to gain perspective on their own lives. Much as de-aging Sam and getting Colin Ford and Jensen Ackles in the same room for many scenes would be unbearably awesome... I don't know why that couldn't happen, actually. It could happen. Handwavey magic stuff happens all the time on this show. I want this to happen. Are you listening Sera? Please make it happen? I'll stop teasing you about the inevitable naked Padalecki if you do? *smiles ingratiatingly*
-Bobby's soul belonging to Crowley will either be handwaved away (not likely) or come to a crisis point somewhere just pre-hiatus. Guess which one's most likely.
-Castiel is not going to find being the 'new sheriff' of Heaven easy, and will involve either the Heavenly Roadhouse crew, or just Sam and Dean in some form of crisis of angels, possibly creating a minor arc in the season.
-MOAR TIME TRAVEL! Because if anything's been fixed, time travel can still break it, and there are bound to be apocalypse factions in Heaven and Hell still trying to end things permanently. So as long as it's available to anyone, time travel will continue to occur. YAY! \o/
-Sam will return Dean's amulet. *shakes fist*
-Chuck will turn up, completely human, with no memory. Because he's not God, and prophets are just potential vessels of God, and Chuck happened to get tapped. And if God shows up still looking like Chuck, it'll be because God's not done with the vessel yet. *is obstinate*
-All the stuff still on the wall from last season is still on the wall. Including Jesse the surfer antichrist, cupids and vampires and all that other stuff.
-The series (which will probably end this year) will end with Sam and Dean, in the Impala, driving off together, classic rock playing, to hunt more evil things. On some level or other. Because that's how it should be.

I'm hoping she does show up, because there's a full-circle-ness to having her there again at the end as in the beginning.

If last season had been the last season, I think the apocalypse would have been more apocalyptic, and we would have gotten a different and more heartbreaking ending. I got the feeling last year after renewal was confirmed that some things and plotlines were being put in reserve for season 6, rather than getting resolved then. I like that there's an extra season, because it allows more time for things to come full circle and issues of 'what's been going on with all the regular hunting stuff while they've all been busy with the apocalypse?' to get addressed. Gives them a chance to tie up loose ends rather than abruptly truncating the apocalypse and going 'that's all folks! Byeeee!'

And there BETTER be amulet!!!
I can't work out whether Sera's a Sam Girl or a Dean Girl, but I think you're right - there will be Naked!Padalecki. But in the interests of balance, there should also be Naked!Ackles. Particularly as he seems to have dropped that tiiiiiny bit of weight he picked up at the end of season 5!
While I love Lisa and Ben and don't want them dead in any way shape or form, I don't want either of them in the back seat of the Impala either.
Chuck as a vessel of God? I LOVE that idea! Because it means Chuck can come back!!!!!
And this won't necessarily be the last season. The boys have signed on for a season 7 if the CW decides to make one...

Some kind of continuation into some kind of future, whether they're dead or not would be very cool. Not dead would be ideal, of course.
And there BETTER be amulet!!!
Yes, absolutely!
Chuck as a vessel of God? I LOVE that idea! Because it means Chuck can come back!!!!!
Exactly. I find the idea of some random slightly skeevy little guy who happens to be a prophet and has no control over the stuff that shows up in his head a much more interesting character than 'was always secretly God and never mind the plot-holes and logic failure that creates. To me, really, if he's receiving the word of God, that's kind of vesselish. Just a theory though.
And this won't necessarily be the last season. The boys have signed on for a season 7 if the CW decides to make one...
Much as more Winchesters is of course a good thing, I don't want this show to get as screwed over for the sake of making a buck as Smallville has. As long as there is a satisfying conclusion, it can end this season.

And Darren Hayes' Fallen Angel just started on my player..lol

From your lips to the ears of the powers-that-be!
This might be very far-fetched, but I'm wondering about Ben's biological father. Lisa said she had tests done, and since Dean wasn't around to be eliminated I'm guessing that means that she had access to Ben's biological father's DNA. So he might be out there somewhere. I guess I kinda want a "Dean's my real (if not biological) Dad" moment.
Castiel is not going to find being the 'new sheriff' of Heaven easy, and will involve either the Heavenly Roadhouse crew, or just Sam and Dean in some form of crisis of angels, possibly creating a minor arc in the season.
I want Gabriel back! Cas, Bobby and Sam got ret-conned back into life post-Apocalypse - why not Gabriel? And I'm positive Cas will come back to ask the Winchesters for help with Heaven at some point, which leaves room for Gabe's return.
What's happened to Adam? And Michael? Are they still in the cage with Lucifer? Very much not fair on Adam if so.
Crowley holds Bobby's soul. And he's an untrustworthy (but amusing) bastard. With a British accent! No way that can go well!

True. And if Sam (and possibly Adam) got out, how, and how can they be sure nothing else did. And who did it?

Oh of course not. :-)

Sorry
I apologize for being an over-excited, over-caffinated idiot on what was an otherwise perfectly wonderful day of Supernatural squee.
