Sherlock Recs
Americans and those with access to US stations, don't forget to check your local listings for PBS airtimes (It might be aired as a part of something called 'Masterpiece Mystery' if you're having trouble finding it); Sherlock starts airing in the US tonight!
GEN FIC
A Decent Cuppa by
madder_rose
Summary: Sherlock makes tea. Green tea. Green tea from China. Details are important.
(A must read for teaophiles. Practically educational.)
The Things We Love and Lose by
urchinmoppet
Summary: The prompt was "Kid!Sherlock and Teddy!John". Somehow, it became this, a series of small vignettes documenting Sherlock in various ages, and the bear that loved him through all.
(Awwwwwwwwww. And then just when you're least expecting it; AWWWWW!!!)
Static on the Line by
urchinmoppet
Summary: The prompt was "Lestrade, knowing Mycroft bugs all of Sherlock's aquaintences homes, calls his own phone to vent about the consulting detective". This is what evolved.
(Squinty implications for Mycroft and Lestrade. Poor Lestrade.)
Three Times John Said It, and Once when Sherlock Did by
urchinmoppet
Summary: The prompt was "I Love You Platonically". I went from there.
(Platonic love with a side of whumpage.)
'SQUINT' FIC*
We Sleep on Stones by
lisson17
Summary: He wanted explosions and bright lights and noise, and what he gets is a alleyway, in the back-end of London with a dripping pipe and nothing but the sound of distant passing traffic
Author Warnings: angst, character death. Yeah, sorry bout this guys.
(I am still in denial about that warning. He could still be alive, in hospital... Oooof.)
*Squint = If you look at it one way, it's plain Gen, if you squint, you might see slash or pre-slash.
VIDS
Friends (Sherlock & John) by
horcrionebay
Music: "Friends" by Flight of the Conchords
(*gigglesnort* A wee bit Squinty perhaps, with a cameo by Movie Holmes and Watson)
Toxic by
lilacbranch
Song: 'Toxic' by Britney Spears
Summary: Sherlock's toxic nightmares about Moriarty
(Works surprisingly well.)
If you've seen something amazing that you think more people in the Sherlock fandom should have the chance to enjoy, please rec it at the main Sunday Recday post at

Just keep repeating along with the rest of us, 'It's been renewed'. From last reports: "The second series of three 90-minute episodes is scheduled to be first broadcast in the UK in Autumn 2011."
In the meantime there's about a thousand immediately-post-1.03 fics to try and fill in the gap.

Have you recced the best anywhere? Where should I start?

That seems highly appropriate for this show. XD

I don't know if they're THE best, but there's a couple post-1.03 recs in this one and this one.
I've been avoiding most of the post-1.03 fic because I have one of my own in the works and I don't want to run the risk of subconcious fic bleedover. I do know there are loads out there though, of all ratings and resolutions. If you go over to the
