Sherlock Recs
GEN FIC
A Walk in the Snow by
Summary: John and Sherlock walk home in the snow
(A sweet quiet little moment, could be barely Squinty if you're determined.)
Nightmares by
Summary: It's John's first night at Baker Street (set directly after A Study in Pink) and he's having the same nightmare as usual.
(Quite a real-feeling moment for both the characters. Moment of pre-Squint in it, very brief.)
'SQUINT' FIC*
Green Improbable Fields by
Prompt: 'Sherlock realises quite quickly that friendship is more important than romantic love; it takes John somewhat longer'.
(I can't think of anywhere to put this but Squint. This is one of those fics that to my mind, can't be labelled. It rolls through friendship, discussions of M/M sexuality, definitions of love, and in the end to me is a warm, loving, non-sexual Gen friendship that was there all along. Opinions will vary on this one.)
*Squint = If you look at it one way, it's plain Gen, if you squint, you might see slash or pre-slash.
PRE-SLASH FIC
I Meet You There, and We Go and its epilogue The Half-Open Window by
Summary: Sherlock doesn't believe in second chances, but a last one will suffice.
Warning: Character Deaths and aftermath.
(PG - Sherlock/John implications. Will shred your soul, unrelentingly and unapologetically, at least five times over. Very much not exaggerating on that.)
SLASH FIC
Eye Opener by
Summary: John has a dream which changes the way he views his and Sherlock's relationship.
(PG13 - Established Sherlock/John. Men kissing and cuddling, mildly suggestive. This is a wonderful meta-as-fic on the differences in cultural attitudes towards homosexuality between Victorian times and 2010.)
