caffienekitty: (dr horrible - status not quo)

It's that time of year again :-/

As some of you know, my work schedule at this time of year, the last two weeks of April in particular (Canadian tax season goes later than U.S. and parts of it stretch on until June) is insane. In fact, today is the last day I won't be at work (for a period of 10 or more hours each day) until about May 8th, at which point I go back to getting one day away from work per week, yay, and all the backlogged other work stuff that's been put off due to tax season comes thundering down on my head.

What this means for the fun parts of my life is, well, I have none. Or at least very few.

How this will affect the posts I make or don't make over the next few weeks:

-If anyone is interested in the Sherlock Recs posts, they are going to be on hiatus until early May. Sorry about this, but since I have no time to read anything but tax laws and receipts covered in dog spit, I won't have anything to rec. What I am doing though is stockpiling a list of links of things I want to read as they show up on my f-list (which I am still skimming and avoiding spoilers for SPN and Doctor Who) and will read through them at some point in the future, meaning (hopefully) that when the most intense insanity of tax season is over, there could be a longish recs list before getting back to the usual.

-If anyone is interested in the Supernatural reaction posts, I am hoping to watch and react to 6.17 sometime today, but after that, until early May, I'm not sure if I will get a chance to watch new episodes within any kind of expedient time frame. A Supernatural picspam reaction takes me about five solid hours to do up (not including assorted futzing about and tending to the demands of the cat, family, cleaning, work) and finding that amount of time in an uninterrupted block will be almost entirely impossible for the next while. So, as I said, I'm hoping to watch and react to 6.17 today, after that, things may be either on hold until May, or very short and at random times.

-If anyone is interested in the Doctor Who series 5 reaction posts I was doing, they're on hiatus too. I know the next episodes in the queue are a two-parter, and if finding five hours in a solid block is almost entirely impossible, then finding ten hours... yeah. Not happening, sadly. This also means when the Series Six starts airing on the 23rd, since people will quite likely be squeeing or ranting about it outside of a cut, I may have to stop skimming my f-list entirely and catch it up from skip=nine billion in May. :-/

-If anyone is interested in the Fanfic I write of any sort... likely not going to be any posted until after the first week of May but there's a slight chance of small weird things escaping into the wild as I try to maintain my sanity, or my brain twitches randomly and gasps for life.

-If anyone is not interested in me whining/ranting about work, duck and cover if I have friended you back. It will almost entirely be f-locked and I try to keep the more ragey bits mostly under a filter, but sometimes they sneak out. If I post anything on that topic, it will also all be under a cut, so if reading about weird/insane/frustrating things that happen at my office is not something you're into, the posts will be easy enough to avoid. :-P

In short, for the next while, this LJ will be mostly boring and whiny. I hope you all stick around for when I get small portions of my life back in May and can hopefully be interesting again.

*crossing fingers* for a SPN 6.17 reaction post today,(ETA: It's up!) and in the meanwhile *hugs* for everyone.

I'll miss having the reaction posts right after the episodes, but getting to relive them at a later date would be great too. Or, if you just can't get caught up on everything and reactions posts are what has to give, do what is best for you. I hope you can find time to breathe in the next month or so.

Whatever will keep you sane to post, or to let us know you are among the living is perfect. In the meantime...

HUGS

Good luck with everything! I will definitely miss your reaction posts, I'm not always as good at commenting as I should be but they make me happy :) Both SPN and Who.

If it's at all relevant, I'd rather read more extensive SPN episode reaction posts when you have the time and inclination, than rushed ones when they air. I really appreciate the amount of effort that goes into screencaps, coding, etc as well as writing.

Looking forward to the 6x17 post if it happens, and if not, hang in there, we're rooting for you!

My deep sympathies.

This is crunch time for academics, too, until right around early May! So you'll probably resume posting recs and DW episode reactions right around the time I have more time to read things, so it's great for me.

Do take care of yourself. Everyone should have at least one day off a week!

I'll miss the reactions, but you whine as you need. That's what we're here for.

My mom worked for H&R Block since sometime in the late 80s. She was one of the few year round workers, but it's like during tax season my sister and I never saw her, and we had lots of pizza. (Hey, according to teens, getting to sit home alone with PIZZA was great!)

So sending you hugs.

I hope the insanity @ work will keep to a minimum!
