Probably why I own three of them (one is dressy)..lol I will have to bring my costume this weekend, since I am NOT wearing it to the opera:P

You can seriously work a longcoat. ;-)

Sadly, my budget doesn't allow for one. Also, 90% of coats/jackets I try on don't fit at all across the shoulders even when they do fit everywhere else. :-P

See, that's the problem with fandom. They influance what I want to wear. Do you know how badly I wanted a leather duster back in the day just so I could be all 'Beneath me." I'll show her. Six bloody feet beneath me. Hasn't got a death wish? Bitch won't need one.' with an accent and then turn my head all sexily.

Now it's been replaced with a brown one so I cn turn my head slightly to the side and go '...I don't understand.' XD Oh my cas, I miss you.

I suspect they were sticking to Sci-Fi and Fantasy examples, since that's the site's focus. The awesomeness of Sherlock's coat is our secret.

I think with Highlander some people remember the swords and forget the coats. Either that or the person writing the article is from a more recent generation and does not know what they have missed.
