Sad News.

Ray Bradbury, science fiction author, died last night at the age of 91.

He was one of my favourite authors. I might have more words on this later, but I just found out and needed to pass the word.

ETA: This isn't the quote I was looking for, but it's a good one.
Stuff your eyes with wonder . . . live as if you'd drop dead in ten seconds. See the world. It's more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories.

"Looking back over a lifetime, you see that love was the answer to everything,"

"My stories run up and bite me on the leg - I respond by writing down everything that goes on during the bite. When I finish, the idea lets go and runs off. "

So very sad :(

“The magic is only in what books say, how they stitched the patches of the universe together into one garment for us.”

And also: “Anything you dream is fiction, and anything you accomplish is science, the whole history of mankind is nothing but science fiction. ”

It's another part of my childhood dying. I read "The Halloween Tree" way back in elementary. Great book and for a while I was doing a tradition of reading it every Halloween.

I so should get a copy for my younger cousins.

I also read Something Wicked This Way Comes in high school, along with some of his other books.
