Disaster Kitchen: HOW???

Okay. So, this wasn't even any kind of challenging cooking task, or an experiment, or anything involving fire at all and it still went foom.

I put literally a handful of frozen sliced strawberries into a huge microwavable container (they didn't even fill it to 1/4 of the way up the side, it was maybe a quarter of a cup, seriously) and put them into the microwave to thaw and warm up on 'reheat' for a quick breakfast thing. Result?

How?? How does that small amount of frozen strawberries turn into that big of an eruption?? I mean, I should know better than to ever trust a frozen strawberry after the previous kamikaze murder attempts, but seriously! Physics?!? O.o
