Over at win_non_con there's about to be a viewing party of... looks like Monster Movie. DVD's spin at 6PM Pacific, 9pm Eastern.

The Guess the Scene is still on and continuing for about five hours and the Worst First Lines writing contest in which there is a risk of prizes is on its third round, so if you want to purge your badfic urges, get over there and purge away!

It's that time again!

For those of us who are unable to attend Wincon for whatever reason, there is an online convention option. The parallel-running annual win_non_con is running again for the ... fifth year I believe. Weekend plans include live watching, "Guess the Scene", "Caption This", and the infamous Bulwinchester-Lytton Worst First Lines writing contest. Full schedule and poll for Saturday's live rewatch is posted here.

If you are stuck near a computer this weekend and looking for weird, fun Supernatural-related things to do, check out win_non_con! (It doesn't mean what you think it means.)

For those interested, Guess the Scene is now open at win_non_con (It's like Pictionary). The Caption Voting poll will be up in a short while, and the final round of the Worst First lines contest is closed, and semi-final voting has begun on that.

ETA: Caption contest Poll is up! VOTE HERE! Poll closes at 4pm Eastern, and is looking like it's gonna require a tie-breaker. Anyone at all can vote, or even just stop by and see all 43 entries! o.O

Time is running out to participate in the win_non_con Caption Contest or Worst First Line writing contest

The prize for each is two months paid LJ time, so get your entries in while you can. These are publicly voted on, and Voting polls will go up shortly after the entries close.

Besides Comment-fic, the Missing Scenes Fic Challenge, and the Treasure Hunt now in some kind of progress, here's some of what's going on at win_non_con:

*Caption contest (I stayed up literally all night finding screencaps, so some of them are a bit goofy.)

*Drabble Chain (this one is the gen-only one, there's a slash one as well) The concept is people write drabbles that follow along after each other, either as a single story or thematically. It's an interesting idea, kind of a round robin thing, but there are no set turns, anyone can jump in whenever.

*The Worst First Lines competition is already on round Two THREE, (last chance!), it's a great way to get the purple prose out of your system and a real hoot. And I think there's a prize! There was one last year.

*SPN Trivia Challenge which only has one competitor so far to my knowledge.

*I'm hosting a viewing party at 9pm Eastern/6PM Pacific/1AM UTC, we'll be watching "Born Under a Bad Sign" simultaneously while chattering back and forth in comments. The post will go up about an hour beforehand. Anyone with access to "Born Under a Bad Sign" and an hour to spare is welcome to join in.

ETA: Viewing party will commence shortly. Come on down!

*Tomorrow at about this time there will be something like online Pictionary, which should be loads of fun.

If anyone is at all even slightly considering joining the win_non_con Treasure hunt, PM amy_star_ immediately. The sign-up post was picked up late by the Newsletter and word never really got out. Only three people signed up by the deadline and as a result the Treasure Hunt may be CANCELLED.

It doesn't matter if you're in a different time zone, if it runs it will run for 24 hours solid.

I'm hosting a comment-fic meme at win_non_con! I've never hosted one before! I'm so nervous you wouldn't believe it.

It's pretty open content-wise, but there are some rules and guidelines that I hope will keep everyone safe from getting responses they don't want. If you have a definite preference for the type of fic you read (and I know a lot of people on my f-list prefer Gen-fic, including myself), please state that preference clearly with your prompts.

Also the general con policy regarding spoilers is none past 5.04.

If you are inclined to comment-fic, please stop by! There's also a Missing Scene fic challenge going up shortly for those interested.
