New Years Party Post!!
All right! I know 90% of the world is asleep/already in 2009, but it's still 2008 for me for a few hours and due to treacherous roads and me being a giant chicken, I can't get to the awesome get-together with the Lurkers (wave hello Lurkers! Pick a name and shout out!).
Sooooo, this is an open invitation; pop in, say hi, muse, ponder, be random, chat amongst yourselves, contemplate the year past, dance around wearing a lampshade, whatever. This is as close to an online New Year's Eve party I can manage, so if you're concious, frolic, dammit! Woo!
*pours virtual tea/coffee/booze and puts the virtual Karaoke machine on 'random'*
ETA: I have yet to discover a song in my current play list that my 'Jared dancing' icon does not seem to synch with. It's a little freaky, but right now I've got 'Hamster Dance' playing and am giggling like a mad thing.

And if you're looking for things to do while trapped by treacherous roads, I wrote a very short Pastor Jim fic partly in response to a conversation we had. So go and check it out when you've got time.

In the fridge you'd find loads of fresh veggies, freshly made three onion dip, the makings of a respectable chef's salad, extra stroganoff on rotini because I made enough to feed a freaking army, club soda, pinepple and orange juice, and sundry tea and coffee fixin's. But since it's virtual, really, you could find anything in there. ;-)

Re: Lurkers 1
So I guess I'm officially one of the Lurkers
Yay! Yep!
(I'm the one who drinks all the coffee, drinks, inhales, searches for an IV... you know what I mean.)
That's the great thing about a virtual party, nothing ever runs out, so drinking all the coffee is impossible.
So, so, so sad that this is virtual. So, so, so glad you chose not to drive.
Ditto. Sensible seemed to be the way to go this year. :-)
(Alright, apparently I'm in need of some Dr. Seuss!)
*tilts head* Well, I don't think there's any green eggs and ham in the fridge, but if you're in desperate need, some can probably be found. :-P
And you are NOT a chicken! You are smart and funny and sweet and sensible and most of all, most importantly for us right now ---safe!!!
Aww. *blushes. And clucks*
Raising my Winnie the Pooh coffee mug in your direction... (There will be wine, but not until midnight it puts me to sleep:)
Cheers! *toasts you with... um.... need a refill, BRB.... club soda and pinapple juice with a squeeze of lime*

Re: Lurker 2--Sharon
MySpace crashes my browser unfortunately, but I will see if I can figure out a workaround to get at it.
I am thinking about the writing group too--although strangely enough I have been writing quite a bit blog or otherwise these past couple of weeks.
Awesome! That's great! On MySpace? Or do you have a secret LJ ID ;-)
You still take the cake on that one of course;)
Ha! Tell that to the stack of in progress fanfic to my left. And the long-hiatused original fic to my right. :-P
Wombat bought me rootbeer schnapps, so I will share if you want some:)
Ooo! Cool! I don't think I've had that, but it sounds deadly. :-)

*hoists bags containing drinks (ginger ale & coke) and goodies (chocolate & shortbread) and waves them about, then puts them down & rummages for veggies :D*
oooo, turn it up, I love this song! :D
(oh stop snickering, I know I'd be nothing like this really, but this is the interwebtubes :D)

Yay! Re-stock! Lots of veggies and, er, stroganoff in the fridge, and some dip and things.
oooo, turn it up, I love this song! :D
*eyes playlist at this very second* Oookay... *cranks the opening theme to Fraggle Rock*
*giggles*
(oh stop snickering, I know I'd be nothing like this really, but this is the interwebtubes :D)
But of course! Yay Internet! Whee!

I'm kinda wishing I could see that though....although he's currently synching disturbingly well with 'Viva La Vida' here.... :D

What's disturbing me is that occasionally when a song starts, the icon animation will pause and start up again more in synch. I think it's the Gmail window periodically re-loading in the background, but it's... yeah. Kinda freaky! :-D

Lurking Wombat sez :Happy New Year!!"
(Anonymous) 2009-01-01 08:08 am (UTC)(link)So there are 3 of us here and we are sipping of an Australian wine called "Evil". And i should say it is not virtual wine. My old boss Peter sold it to me and it isn't too bad. On the back of the label it says "It is just wrong". :)
Fraggle Rock was a great selection. And here "virtually" everyone was singing out loud to the theme!!
Anyways have fun and will post more later :)

hey there
Hey there! *tackles everyone*

*giggles* The wine at the office Christmas party was called 'Bird in Hand';someone asked what it cost and I said it was worth two in the bush. Everyone was confused... :-/

It's one of those happy goofy songs. If you look up the side of that you tube page there's a whole bunch of old kids show and cartoon theme songs you might get a kick out of.
Anyways have fun and will post more later :)
Yep, yep. I had a large coffee from Tim Hortons when I watched the final episode of Air Farce at 8-ish, so I'll be up for a while yet I think. ;-)
Happy New Year
