Sam's sudden voice drifting across the gulf between the beds could have been startling if Dean weren't still awake.

"Dean, what Zachariah said-"

"It's a total load of crap. If I'm a vessel, why did Castiel's voice hurt me, hunh?" Words snapped out, certain. "There's no way it's true. Zach's crazy. A lying douche."

"So you aren't even gonna tell Bobby?"

"Hell no."

"What about asking-"

"I'm nobody's freaking vessel. Or sword." Or blunt instrument, his own voice echoed in his mind.

"But you could ask Castiel-"

"Just forget about it. Go to sleep, Sam."

Asking Castiel meant admitting it was possible. And it wasn't. It couldn't be.

Jep, sounds perfectly like Dean. Although somehow after their last exchange I can't picture them sharing a room that night. ;(

I don't think Dean distrusts Sam so much that he won't sleep in the same room with him. Actually, if Dean's sleeping in a different room, then he'd have no idea whether Sam was sneaking in or out for whatever purpose, so if anything, he'd be more likely to keep sharing rooms. Actually getting deep sleep or letting Sam drive the car might be a whole different story though.

You are ritgh but still I think they (or Dean) need to cool down a bit before they share a room again. Beause of the reasons you stated I think that would be pretty soon (next night?) but I do believe Dean and Sam would spent this one night not together but sulking on their own ;)
