Reaction: Rewatching Christmas Invasion.
Spoilers up to Doctor Who 4.13, mentions of Torchwood.
Things re-learned from re-watching Doctor Who 2.00 - "The Christmas Invasion":
-Kripke does not have the market cornered on screwing with Christmas. Noooo.
-David Tennant huffing in pain and collapsing all over the place kicks me right in the protective instincts. The bathrobe and pajamas are not helping, and neither is the odd perception that he looks like he'd weigh about as much as a wet cat.
-Mickey might be a little whiny now and then, but he rocks when it counts.
-Never ever air transmissions from space live on National TV, it never goes well. (And somewhere on a private telephone line deep under Roald Dahl Plass, Captain Jack is going "Told ya so.")
-Mickey's laptop/Roses mum's computer (not sure) is using the old standard Mac "You're doing something wrong, moron" alert noise any time Mickey gets some new info. It's giving me giggle-fits.
-Thanks to Torchwood, I can now recognize Welsh accents.
-If this had actually happened, I would have spent Christmas morning 2005 on the edge of the tallest building in town, which would be all of three stories tall over some soft hedges, so no big deal.
-Stop arguing with the alien overlords. Especially after the first 'I kill you for being annoying' murder.
-Head of UNIT is lethally thick. Was, rather.
-Always look out the TARDIS doors before exiting the TARDIS.
-Rose can talk a fine line of bull, but is about as convincing as heavy artillery strapped onto a row-boat.
-Cup of tea fixes everything.
-I really really really love the Tenth Doctor.
-***Warning, disturbing subject matter*** Any deeply suicidal people who had A positive blood went off the edge of tall buildings on Christmas 2005 in the Doctor Who universe. It would have had to be really deep to overcome the survival instinct, and anyone that bad off would have done something before then though, so I doubt there were many. ***End warning***
-Sometimes a hand on the wall stays there a very long time before going off.
-Hehehe. "Very Arthur Dent. Now there was a nice man." Canon crossover, there you are. *glee*
-"No second chances. I'm that sort of a man." Ah yes....
-Group hugs are only for people who aren't about to turn around and invalidate everything you just did.
PLEASE DON'T SPOIL ME FOR ANY DOCTOR WHO OR TORCHWOOD AIRED AFTER JULY 10, 2009. See sidebar for spoiler definition. Thank you! :-)

Ditto. Definitely before 10/10/10 if not sooner.
Hoping you are better today?
Better, if weird. I went to sleep after hanging up, then woke up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at 3 am, watched Christmas Invasion, then went back to bed at 6AM and got up about an hour ago.

I like the screwing with Christmas! None of this, "we're miserable selfish bastards the rest of the year, let's pretend to be nice this one time" rubbish. Nooooooo. Murderous gods and aliens - bring them on!
I really really really love the Tenth Doctor.
Yes! I think he's going to be my favourite forever and ever.

Didn't say I disliked it, just that Kripke didn't have the market cornered. Murderous aliean santas FTW.

I've been a Doctor Who fan since the early 90's. Tom Baker used to be my favourite Doctor, and then McGann briefly, but when Tennant came along, it was like all the other Doctors were placeholders until he came along.

I don't even want to think of a post-10 era!
